Like previous CD Projekt Red games, there are many ways to customize your character in Cyberpunk 2077 to suit your wishes. This level of customization even extends to the different types of game pistols available in three unique flavors.
When it comes to customizing weapons, there are two important ways to do this. First, you can change the look of your gun by applying different skins or paints. In contrast, the most sensible way to customize your gun is by applying attachments and modifications, such as silencers and sights. You can also specifically increase individual gun statistics.
Aside from personalization, it's worth noting as your skills with specific weapons increase, your animation for reloading and shooting changes. For example, your cross hair may become smaller, indicating that your precision is improving or your reload animation is faster. According to senior level designer Miles Toast, this was applied to better fit your character's growth.
"You really get that sense of progression and your character develops as you play the game," Toast said. "I think it's a special experience when you combine it with the way you customize your gun, where you get the feeling that it's your signature gun and that you're really good at using it."
