Techland, the creators of the original Dead Island, planned a sequel when they instead turned their attention to Dying Light. Dead Island 2 switched to Yager Developments, then Sumo Digital, then Dambuster Studios, and here we are at the end of 2019 without any sign.
In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Clemens Kundratz (CEO of Koch Media, which owns Deep Silver Publishing and is part of THQ Nordic), explained that it was definitely coming. "Look, Dead Island is a very important brand for us and we need to get better. It's just a testament to our dedication to getting it right," he said.
"It's a great story to tell everyone it's in his third studio, but we like to be judged by the end result and we're really sure that when it comes out it's going to be a zombie kick game. we give our full strength. "[1
