Deep Space Nine actor Aaron Eisenberg dies at age 50



LOS ANGELES ES – Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Aaron Eisenberg, who played Nog in the '90s series, died Saturday. He was 50.

His character Nog, who has appeared throughout the seven seasons, was a member of the alien race Fahrenhei and joined Starfleet following a recommendation from Captain Cisco. Eisenberg returned for a guest spot on Star Trek: Voyager and appeared in the Star Trek fan movie Renegades.

His widow, Malissa Longo, wrote on Facebook, "He was so driven to put the best he had to whatever work was put before him. He lived his life with such vigor and passion."

Eisenberg, who was born with one kidney has received two kidney transplants. Kidney problems were hindering his growth and he was standing 5 feet tall.
