The separation of Demi Lovato and Max Erich seems friendly – both are still featured in many PDAs and engagement photos on Instagram pages in other countries – but that doesn’t mean they don’t talk.
The news surfaced on Thursday that the former, who met in March and announced their engagement in July, were splitting up.
“It was a difficult decision, but Demi and Max decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers,” a source told ET on Thursday. People was the first to confirm the split. “They respect and love each other and will always appreciate the time spent together.”
Shortly after the news broke, Young and restless The 29-year-old star went to Instagram, simply posting the message “Jesus loves you.”
He wrote the post with a heart, prayer hands and pigeon emoticons and turned off the comments.
Prior to the split news, the 28-year-old Lovato shared a promotional post about her collaboration with Talkspace, in which she still wears her sports engagement ring. But after the news, she shared a video of herself in brilliance, without her ring swinging a T-shirt that said “Dogs over people.”
