The Hockey Squad looked pretty comfortable in Hockey, North in Calumet, with a pair of youngsters scoring two goals each in the Red Wings in Detroit 4 1 preseason over the defending champion for the Stanley St. Louis Blues Cup on Thursday.

Anthony Manta, scheduled for Wings' top line, found the result with a Power-play score with just over 4:30 remaining in the first period. Manta's first goal was aided by young quarterback Denis Cholowski, who is vying for a competitive spot.

Ryan's "Blue" Riley, who was the MVP of the Stanley Cup playoffs this spring, tied it in less than a second, but Manta, unassisted, gave Wings the lead in just 22 seconds. later.

Manta left the rest of 20-year-old Michael Rasmussen's estimates, Wings' top pick in 2017. Rasmussen scored just over 13 minutes in the second period, with assists from the predicted mantas of Manta, Tyler Bertuzi and Dylan Larkin. Less than two minutes later, Rasmussen did it again, scoring Wings' final goal with assists from Cholowski and rookie Tarot Heights, who spent most of last season at Michigan State.

The Blues have not taken a major attack against Wings and goalie Calvin Picard, who is likely to start the season in the AHL with Grand Rapids. Picard stopped 20 of the 21 shots he encountered at the 700-seat Coliseum Coliseum.
