Doing any form of exercise after eating could improve insulin sensitivity, which consequently lowers the risk of high blood sugar
It can also help the body absorb sugar, which is crucial for diabetes patients.
"If you are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, you can, with lifestyle changes, counteract or prevent type 2 diabetes," said Ernestam
"Changing your lifestyle by increasing physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight , eating a well-balanced nutritional diet and avoiding skipping meals

"By being active after a meal, you can help the body absorb the energy [sugar] to the cells, and is therefore an important part of the non-medical treatment of type 2 diabetes. "
