SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) – In the tropics, activity picks up when we are near the peak of hurricane season in just two weeks. Fortunately, there are currently no immediate threats to Southern Mississippi. We continue to monitor two areas: a system called the Dorian, which moves across the Caribbean, and the Tropical Storm Erin off the east coast of the United States. So far, none of them represents an immediate threat to the Gulf Coast. But keep an eye on the updates.
