At least 20 people were injured by a gunman who opened fire in Odessa, Texas, city officials announced Saturday at local retail outlets while a second shooter is believed to be at large in nearby Midland.
Odessa officials told KosA there were 20 injuries in connection with the shooting, but authorities did not confirm any injuries. The public is being urged to avoid Interstate 20.
One suspect is alleged to be driving a gold car from Odessa to Midland and armed with a shotgun, NewsWest9 reported. A second suspect is believed to be driving a US Postal Service van.
The Odessa Police Department released a statement and said there were two people likely to be "driving around Odessa, shooting at random people."

"There have been reports of an active shooter in the Odessa home depot. For the safety of the public and law enforcement, please stay away from the area and stay at home. We will update more information as soon as possible, "the department said shortly before 5:00 PM. ET.
In a video posted to Twitter, police can be seen outside local businesses in response to the incident.
The University of Texas at the Permian Basin is in lockdown.
