El Paso reported 22 virus deaths, 1,062 new cases; active cases rise again

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Now the death from coronavirus is 845 in El Paso County.

The Ministry of Public Health announced 22 new deaths related to the virus on Friday morning.

Health officials also announced 1,062 new cases and 123 “delayed” positive results. These are the results that the state of Texas has just reported to the local health department. Some of these delayed results are weeks away.

El Paso set a new record for known active cases. Now their number is 35,036. Thursday noted for the first time in more than six weeks that there is a decrease in the number of active cases in El Paso.

Hospitalizations increased from 1

,074 to 1,082. The number of patients in the intensive care unit decreased from 315 to 307.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 79,162 confirmed cases, with 42,827 reported for recovery.
