Longtime Paramount Pictures CEO Elizabeth Raposo leaves her studio, Diversity has learned.
Raposo has been the president of Paramount’s production since 2017, where she is the studio shepherd for all franchise materials and event-based intellectual properties. The news of Raposo’s release was announced by the newly elected president of the film group Emma Watts.
“Elizabeth Raposo leaves Paramount Pictures. “She has been an invaluable part of the Paramount family for 15 years, including the last three years as president of our film production team,” Watts wrote in a note Thursday.
Raposo works in harmony with like-minded Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the massive Transformers series. At the time of Jim Giannopoulos, she was known as a larger commercial executive designed to offset the efforts of other movie labels such as Paramount Animation and the low-budget Paramount Players records.
Watts, considered the savior of the legendary studio, joined Giannopoulos and other former 20th-century Fox cohorts this summer. In her note, she praised Raposo̵
With her great taste and incredible talent relationships, Liz has played an important role in many of the company’s past and recent successes, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Rocket Launcher, Quiet Place, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and Bumblebee. “As well as the latest Star Trek movies and the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick, among many others. We thank Liz from the bottom of our hearts for her many years of experience and countless contributions to the studio and we wish her the best, “Watts concluded.
