Tuesday appeared that Ezekiel Elliot could plan to withstand the training camp when the team reported on July 26th. The timing of this news is a little shocking to me because he still has two years plus two more years that cowboys could put him in a franchise. This will in theory cause the team to stay at the age of four years of teamwork.
Eliot is scheduled to enter his 4th season in 2019. The cowboys took advantage of their 5th year option in the off-season, which will pay him over $ 9 million for the season 2020. However, it is only planned to make 3.8 million in 2019. It is unusual in the NFL that a player gets an extension of the contract for two years remaining from his deal but the fact that Eliot is only planned to make 3 , 8 million in 201
Yahoo Sports said yesterday that it would be very important this week and could decide what the direction would be.
If Eliot feels that things are going on, he will report back to the camp and this is a non-story.
If he does not feel that way, Robinson says things can go quite fast. Robinson says Stephen Jones is a "point of performance" in these discussions, which may be bad news for Zick, although Jones said earlier in the off season that he is "the straw that shakes our drink."
I think there are two factors that play a role in this situation for Eliot and the Cowboys.
Does the Rabbit Worth Extending the Contract?
Although football analyzes tell you that running backs are not relevant, I believe he absolutely deserves paid among the highest-paid draws in the league. The fact that Eliot has remained so effective despite the shields that load the box because he is not afraid of the passing game, talks to the player he is. From 2016, he can not go back to football more than yard after contact with Eliot
Does Elliott have any influence in this situation?
This is the time when time is not calculated. As I mentioned earlier, Eliot still has two years of his current deal, so the leverage ratio is minimal. And on top of that, Elliot has to appear in a training camp by August 6 or will not gain the 4th year, which adds another year when the Cowboys have control.
Eliot knows he is on his way to another big workload this season and wants to keep his future with a long-term contract. I'm sure he is aware of what the Cowboys did to Demarko Murray in 2014.
In 2014 Murray rushed 392 times, which led the NFL with 80 wins this season. The cowboys have publicly said they want Murray to come back, but they will only return it at their cost. The cowboys also had a deal with Des Bryant who appeared at that time.
It's no secret that running backs in the NFL are not as important to the teams as the teams throw the football.
Todd Gurley received his last contract out of season and was subsequently replaced by CJ Anderson in the NFC Championship and Super Bowl.
Side note Stephen Jones said that the word for Zick's contract is Gurley. Gurley makes $ 14 million a season. said publicly that he would not appear in a training camp and wants to be traded if no deal is reached. Gordon is in the last year of his deal.
I have no doubt that Cowboys do not reach the place where they try to get out without gameplay. during his career to play this season and take a position next season if the contract is not reached. The reason for this is that he gets the accumulated 4th season and this is much closer to the free agency because it is unlikely that the fighters will franchise him.
