The Patriots cut off Eric Tomlinson yesterday. Unless they do.
The Patriots initially announced Wednesday morning that the tight end was vacated to make room for the addition of a commercial acquisition, Mohammed Sanu.
But the team sent word this morning Tomlinson was still on the list of 53 people.
They created a place when wide receiver Josh Gordon was placed in early reserve, but that came later in the day after the initial announcement of Sanu's arrival was made. This raises a reasonable question about the timeline on Gordon.
Tomlinson played 38 snaps in Monday's win over the Jets, his broadest action of the season.
