President-elect Joe Biden’s expected election as secretary of state has been criticized for his recent advisory work and early support for the Iraq war, as agencies announced that Anthony Blinken would be announced soon.
“Blinken advised Biden to vote for the war in Iraq. He also said the United States had failed by sending more troops to Syria,” Ricochet editor-in-chief John Gabriel wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
Blinken was Biden’s biggest aide in 2002, when the former senator voted in favor of a resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq, according to the progressive magazine The Nation.
