FDNY provides information to the FBI about members who attended the US Capitol Rebellion – NBC New York

The New York Fire Department has provided information to the FBI about a number of members who were allegedly in the US Capitol when the rebels attacked the building.

A FDNY spokesman confirmed that a number of its members had been identified as participants in Wednesday’s riot, which killed four people and a police officer at the US Capitol.

“The department received anonymous allegations that active or retired members attended the events at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6 and provided that information to the FBI as needed,” said Frank Dwyer, a spokesman for FDNY.

An image circulating on Twitter after Wednesday’s riot was taken by a man standing directly in front of the building wearing a “FDNY Squad 252”

; printed on the back. Dwyer told the NY Post that the man in the photo “is not an active member of the department.” “

At least 16 people have been arrested so far and charged with federal crimes for their involvement in violence committed at the Capitol building in the United States, NBC News reports.

On Saturday, the man, photographed heavily with a horned helmet and carrying a spear, was arrested; as was the man seen carrying the cabin.
