Whatever your political leanings, it is worrying that the federal authorities spied on emails and other private communications between President Donald Trump and his lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, during Trump’s first impeachment.
In November 2019, the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York executed a “hidden order” for the former mayor’s iCloud account and then decided for itself which private communications between the president and his lawyer are outside the boundaries of a client lawyer or executive privilege , according to Giuliani’s lawyer Robert Costello.
Giuliani says the invasion was caused by “Trump Disorder Syndrome”
It was only after the FBI’s sunrise at Giuliani’s apartment in the upper East on Wednesday that Costello was informed of the iCloud order. He is reportedly part of an investigation into alleged lobbying activities by Giuliani in Ukraine, where he is investigating why Hunter Biden receives $ 83,000 a month from a corrupt Ukrainian energy company while his father is vice president.
But that’s not the way to treat the mayor who got New York out of his disorder in the 1990s. There is no way to deal with the brave American lawyer from Manhattan who brought down the crowd in the 1980s. And there is no way to treat a former personal lawyer to a president.
What the hell is going on?
“In the banana republics, in. . . in many parts of the world, when a candidate loses the presidency, they follow the candidate, they follow his lawyers, they follow his friends, “Harvard law professor Alan Dershovitz told radio host John Katsimatidis on Sunday. “It’s happening in America now. They are chasing Rudy Giuliani.
To make matters worse, someone is leaking inaccurate information about the investigation.
The New York Times, Washington Post and NBC News released anonymous material last week, claiming that Giuliani had received an official “defense briefing” from the FBI, warning him that he had been the subject of Russian misinformation because of his investigations in Ukraine.
The problem is that it was not true. All three news operations were due to issue adjustments on Saturday.
At least they had the integrity to admit they were wrong.
But you would think, after the journalistic failure of the fraud with Russia’s secret agreements, that they could protect themselves from the sinister interests in Washington that are spreading misinformation about Trump and his aides under the guise of anonymity.
The fact is that if Giuliani planned to destroy evidence, which is the most likely cause of a noisy raid on his home and office, he could have done so at any time in the last 18 months.
Costello first contacted prosecutors on November 22, 2019, when leaks about the investigation first began to spread, and suggested in an official letter that Giuliani meet with investigators and answer any questions if they would inform him of the subject of their investigations.
Costello made at least two more proposals, including in a letter March 2 this year, but all were rejected.
“Why don’t you do it the easy way?” Costello asks.
Why didn’t the U.S. Attorney’s Office simply issue a subpoena in the usual way it handles attorneys with privileged information, instead of sending seven agents to slam Giuliani’s door into jackets adorned with the FBI logo?
It was too much. At first glance, this appears to be a continuation of the FBI’s witch-hunt against Trump and his associates, even before he took office, lost his presidency and encouraged his political opponents.
What makes it even more confusing is that the Southern District Law Firm was proud of its independence from political interference, being called the “Sovereign Area of New York.”
There, Giuliani successfully pursued the five families of the Mafia in New York and survived a mafia contract for his life. There he took down untouchables from Wall Street like Ivan Boeski and Michael Milken. The office was Giuliani, and Giuliani was the office.
Undoubtedly, he did not make friends in his old job, saying that they envied him.
But that doesn’t explain the ostentatious demonstration of force with regard to allegations of technical violations of an 80-year law, the Foreign Agent Registration Act, which was rarely enforced until the advent of Trump. It was used against former Trump campaign president Paul Manafort and his former national security adviser, General Mike Flynn, and now appears to be against Giuliani.
Given the evidence of numerous alleged FARA violations on the laptop, Hunter Biden abandoned in service in 2019 – which has been in the hands of the FBI for more than a year – is no wonder that Costello cites a “corrupt double standard.” There are no raids at dawn on Biden’s family homes.
Trump’s enemies have no doubt that the ultimate goal is Trump. His former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who is currently under house arrest after pleading guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violations, is rubbing his hands in joy.
According to MSNBC, on Sunday morning, Cohen predicted that 76-year-old Giuliani would betray Trump.
“Giuliani has a full vault.” [compromising material] to Trump, he will be released to save himself, ”Cohen erupted. “Good luck, buddy, you’ll need it.”
But anyone who thinks so does not know Giuliani.
The sad irony is that at a time when crime is spiraling out of control, the hero who saved New York is demonized and persecuted in the city that owes him so much.
Unmask the president!
Christian rubies and white Republicans are demonized for allegedly refusing to receive the coronavirus vaccine.
“It’s time to start avoiding ‘hesitant vaccines,'” a USA Today columnist wrote, pointing to “unreasonable … evangelicals and Republicans.”
The attacks are based on old polls. But if you look at the demographics of who was actually vaccinated, you can see that Democrats are more likely to be hesitant to get the pictures.
For example, Democrats make up 76 percent of voters in the District of Columbia, and yet only 26.8 percent of DCs were fully vaccinated by Saturday. In contrast, South Dakota, the lair of white Republicans, has 35.8 percent of its population fully vaccinated, although, arguably, people in rural areas are not at greater risk than those in dense urban areas.
The majority of blacks are Democratic voters, and most whites vote Republicans. Still, whites rank for shots against COVID-19 at a much higher rate than any other racial group, with CDC figures showing 67.2% of white non-Hispanics fully vaccinated, while covering 61.2% of population. Only 8.5 percent of black non-Hispanics are vaccinated, while they make up 12.5 percent of the population.
None of this analysis is useful. But neither falsely accuses Republicans of getting more shots.
What would help is if President Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci and other high-ranking Democrats who have been fully vaccinated simply follow the advice of the CDC and get rid of masks outdoors when they are with other vaccinated people.
Instead, they still wear masks everywhere, and Biden panics every time he closes his face. They send a message contrary to the vaccination imperative.
The prospect of resuming normal life is the only incentive for vaccination. So stop playing politics.
