The affected vehicles include model 2011-2016 Dodge Journey Crossover, 2011-2014 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger sedans, 2011-2016 Jeep Compass Jeeps, and 2011-2012 Dodge Caliber Hatchback.
"We are aware that today's EPA message reflects a new policy to announce routine emissions," Fiat Chrysler said in a statement, "This campaign has no safety implications. There are no and related fines. This problem has been identified by the FCA during routine emission testing in use and reported to the agency.
Shares were 2% lower in the news.
