Today Square Enix hosted the main theme of Final Fantasy XIV FanFest in Tokyo, and producer and director Naoki Yoshida had a lot of new information to share about the upcoming Shadowbringers expansion.
First of all, we saw an extended version of the extension trailer, which you can see below.
The trailer introduced a new city and new places. Obviously, we will get to the alternative world called "the first" in the region, called Norvandt. The mission will be to restore the darkness of this kingdom.
How and why this will happen will be explained by the update of the story that comes with the next round on March 26th.
We see the first look at a new city center built around the Crystal Tower version of the First, with a few screenshots and a video clip. This city is called Crystarium, and there are many people gathered to fight the end brought by the Light.
The second city is Eulmor, where the rich and rich have gathered to live in comfort to the end. It looks like Limsa Lominsa, but in many ways it's different.
Even for Eulmore, we see video and some screenshots.
Then we move to Lakeland, which is closest to Crystarium. We also see some of the footage in this game. This is where players start their adventure where people who believe in the legend of Warrior of Darkness live. They believe someone will come to save them from the Light.
By the way, there is no evening in the First.
Then we'll see some screenshots of the dungeons that will come with the expansion.
a new job – the dancer who will be MRF with a distance using throwing weapons. They will perform dances to perform abilities. Some of them will also encourage party members. Looking for a job to become a dancer will be in Limsa Lominsa.
Below you can see a video and artwork that shows their appearance for both women and men.
Yoshida-san presents a new beast tribe, the dwarves. First, Lalafel is not the same as in our world. They are dwarves, they are a tribe of animals and live in the mountains. Below you can see their appearance and a few screenshots of their villages that are small
We also see a convenient diagram of the respective names for the races in the First.
Innocence that plays an important role in history.
The next menu is high-end. The name of the new series is "Eden". A hint on this can be seen in the picture below. The design of symbols and monsters for this raid will be handled by Tetsuya Nomura. You can also enjoy one of the characters he has designed. Her name is Gaia, and she has a hammer (which is interesting because there are no hammers in Eorzea).
Viera will be only a woman on reason, only male race comes, and his name is Hrotgar. You can look at them below.
Both races will have unique customization capabilities and two clans. Viera and Hrothgar are their names in The Source, while in the First they are called Viis and Ronso. I see what you did there, Yoshi-P!
