Former Washington QB Dwayne Haskins is preparing to visit Carolina

While the Washington football team is set to play in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today, his former quarterback is preparing for his first trip.

Sources say Dwayne Haskins will leave on Sunday night for a free agent visit with the Carolina Panthers, which will begin in earnest on Monday morning.

This is the first trip for the former leader, who was fired by Washington on December 28, after which he released the refusal, thanks in part to his $ 4.3 million remaining salary that Washington will cover. The new team will probably only pay the Haskins minimum.

There is uncertainty about the Panthers heading to the 2021

quarterback quarter, with Teddy Bridgewater being pulled off in his final start and head coach Matt Rule said Bridgewater should have a “huge off-season.”

Can Haskins be part of the solution? There are other teams with an interest in the talented player, who was selected as number 15 in 2019, and this may be just establishing facts about Carolina.

However, if it goes well for both parties, this could turn into a signing. Rule knows Haskins from high school, and Ryan Day, the coach of Haskins from Ohio, worked with Rule at Temple in 2006. He has relationships and Carolina does her homework.

WFT released Haskins a few weeks ago after he started playing, was placed on a bench and would be inactive in the final game. That same week, Haskins was fined and disciplined for attending a stripper party while being portrayed for not wearing a mask in violation of COVID-19 protocols.

After his release, Haskins said in a statement: “I take full responsibility for not meeting the NFL’s QF standards and I will become a better person and player because of this experience.”
