Former White House spokeswoman Kaylee McEnnany joins Fox News

“It is a great pleasure to welcome Kayleigh McEnany to the Fox family today. We will see much more of her in the future,” Fox News presenter Harris Faulkner said on Tuesday.

Makenani, who has come under fire for her hard defense of Trump’s misleading statements, has long been a rising star in Republican politics. As a high school student, she interned for the 2004 Bush-Cheney campaign. Before coming to the White House, where she was a press officer for less than a year, she worked in a Fox News production and was a CNN commentator and spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign.

In his first interview since leaving the White House, Makenani told Faulkner on Tuesday that he did not believe Trump was responsible for the January 6 Capitol riots.

“We were at hundreds of rallies … They were nothing but peaceful events. We expected this day to be the same,”

; Makinani said.

Makenani often appeared online during his tenure as press officer. Remarkably, on February 25, 2020, Mackinani continued Fox Business and said, “We will not see diseases like coronavirus coming here,” Trump praised the way he handled the impending pandemic in the United States.
