Here’s all we know so far about the Halloween event Fortnitemares 2020, including the return of Midas to Fortnite.
We had a Fortnite-themed Halloween event in the last two years for the Battle Royale game mode called Fortnitemares. Each year, players have the chance to meet the challenges of Fortnitemares, which provide players with XP season and a variety of cosmetics, including sprays and charging screens.
Epic has added to the umbrella award for players who defeated the Storm King included in the new Halloween-themed LTM. There were only six Battle Royale challenges last year, but there were a number of additional challenges players could take on creativity that provided players with XP and different styles of skateboarding.
This year we will have another Fortnitemares event and as usual, the data miners have expired some features and elements that will probably be introduced when the event starts. Here’s everything we know about Fortnitemares 2020 through leaks and past events.
Challenges and free cosmetic prizes
There is no surprise here. We’ll get Fortnite challenges to complete at Fortnitemares, as well as some free cosmetics and XP. Epic doesn’t release too many Battle Royale challenges for the Halloween event, so expect 5 or 6 challenges with one big cosmetic prize and a few sprays and XP.
We need to see again a number of creative challenges that will provide more XP for players who can win, along with some styles of bling bling. I still hope to see Epic put more effort into BR’s challenges this year.
Again, no surprise with this one. Epic Games always add decorations for big holidays, including Christmas and Halloween. Expect decorations all over Fortnite’s map, some of which may be part of Fortnitemares’ challenges.
Article for mobility of brooms
Data diggers have said that we can see brooms added to the game as a mobility item for Fortnitemares 2020. There is a new field that has been added to the files in the v14.30 update called “Broom Box”, as well as consumables codenamed “Wbroom”.
If a broom mobility element is added to the game, we can see it available in certain LTMs instead of normal game modes. We’ll probably know more when the next major Fortnite update is released. However, there is a chance that it will be added in all game modes, but it could work in a similar way to the mythical abilities of Silver Surfer’s Surfboard.
Fortnite Halloween skins and cosmetics
We’ve already seen Epic Games reissue Halloween-themed Fortnite skins and cosmetics, as well as the ultimate Halloween-themed reporting package. We’ll probably see more new skins for Halloween Fortnite added, as well as the release of Fortnite Goth Legends Pack.
The broom element not only expired during the last update, but the data miners also ran out of some new consumables that will be added to the game when the Fortnitemares event starts. Pepper Ming, Hot Drop, Candy Corn, Jelly Bean and Thermal Taffy are the names of all the new Halloween-themed consumables that have been added to the files.
There’s also a candy bucket that players are likely to find around the card, which is likely to function like fruit boxes. If you somehow do not find fruit boxes in season 4, once they are opened, they provide players with any fruit. We will probably see candy buckets provide any consumables for players.
Most of these consumables are likely to provide capabilities we already have in the game. Candy Corn will probably function like corn, thermal taffy will probably work like thermal fish, and pepper should work like the peppers currently in play.
Midas Fortnite Return and Ghost Henchmen
If the leaks are correct, we will see Midas return to Fortnite during the Fortnitemares 2020 event. Hypex initially leaked that NPC Midas will be added to the map along with Ghost Henchmen.
In the Fortnite v14.30 update, the Midas gold chair has returned to The Authority, which also suggests that it will return to the Fortnite map. Let’s not forget, it will also be part of the upcoming Last Laugh package, which will be released next month.
When does Fortnitemares 2020 start?
There is no information regarding the start date of Fortnitemares 2020. However, we will probably see the event start on October 27, October 28 or 29. As soon as we find out more about the event, we will definitely update you.
