Shares of GameStop jumped 58% to $ 31.24 in a final check, reaching an internal high of $ 38.65. GameStop’s short interest rate rose to 71.2 million shares on December 31 from a previous 68.1 million shares, according to FactSet. GameStop has 69.8 million shares outstanding.
