Another COG in the machine
Facilities 5 he is not dead. Well, technically, no one thought that was the case. The Developer Coalition is constantly supporting a multiplayer party Gears continues to insist on being an export game. But in a surprising move, Facilities 5 gets some content after launch, which has not received any games in the series since Gears of War 3: Story DLC.
In an interview with IGN, the Coalition confirmed this Speeds 5 receives a supplement in December, which is called Beehives. It features Keegan, Lachney and Mack, the trio of protagonists in Escape mode. This is not a giant content, as it is estimated that it will take three or four hours. It also comes with PC, Xbox Series S / X and Xbox One, along with optimizations for new consoles. No other details were given, including a history overview or whether this is a free or paid add-on.
That’s not all Speeds 5 prepares to launch Xbox Series X. Gets a major update that adds New Game +, 120 frames per second support in Versus mode on both Series S and X, and (most importantly) the ability to replace Marcus with the WWE star Batista in the campaign. Nothing like throwing the emotion and knowledge of four others Gears games – and especially the super big plot at the end of this game – through the window so that your long-time favorite character can be replaced with a Monster Energy box.
Here is an unexpected and best-welcomed improvement: The coalition has managed to significantly reduce the entry delay for next-generation consoles. Both the Xbox Series S and X saw a 36% reduction in latency in the campaign and 57% compared to Versus. I wasn’t even aware that this was on the table in terms of next-generation benefits. More responsive controls are obviously nothing more than a good thing.
All of this comes live with the launch of the Xbox Series X on November 10th. We will probably learn more about the history supplement shortly after.
