Georgia Offensive Lyman South George Wiggins died at East Georgia Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia, on Monday night.
The cause of death and further details were not immediately available. a statement Monday night that he "received a report of the death of student-athlete Jordan Wiggins. Wiggins, 18, studied electrical engineering at Georgia Southern. This season, he redirected the football team. He was an All-Big Bend offensive lineman at Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida in 2018.
Godby High coach Brandon McCray, a former Wiggins offensive coach, told the Tallahassee Democrat on Monday night that Wiggins, Aleta Jones, passed away in 201
"He never wanted to do something unless he made someone else happy," Macray tells the Democrat. "He was always there for his friends. He would do anything for his tin. He loved football, but he even did it because it made his friends happy.
" It was like my adopted son, "McCray added." For two years I trained with him and against all his brothers. I'm still in shock. I do not know what to think. I still have a lot of his stuff here in my house. I'm just trying to be here for my mom and all our players. "
The Eagles are scheduled to play in New Mexico at home on Saturday.
