“What worries me is the amount of misinformation that continues to flow. It’s worrying to me,” Duncan continued. “It is certainly discouraging to observe people who want to present their character and morals there, just so they can spread half the truth or lies in their efforts to reverse the election. … Democracy is not like that. . “
Duncan also called on the president and Republicans to “reorient their approach after the election,” warning of the challenges of not doing so.
“I think in the short term we risk alienating voters for our Senate race, which awaits us for Senator Lefler and Senator Perdue. And we need them,” he said. “And in the long run, I think we’re hurting the brand of our Republican Party, which is certainly bigger than one person in the long run … As Americans, we need to see leaders who inspire us and don’t talk down.”
Duncan also said he would not join Trump and Vice President Mike Pence when they visit Georgia this weekend to campaign for Löfler and Purdue, telling Camerota, “I have a full day on Saturday.”
