The 33-year-old “Glee” star was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on July 24, according to a death certificate received from CNN. The Hollywood Hills Cemetery is the last resting place for many celebrities, including Paul Walker, Carrie Fisher, Beth Davis and Liberas.
Rivera drowned on Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, after taking her son on a rented boat. It took the searchers several days to find her body, but a medical examination determined she drowned minutes later, according to the death certificate.
No other significant factors were listed that contributed to Rivera’s death.
Josie, Rivera’s 4-year-old son, was found asleep on the vessel when the pontoon boat was not returned to the rental company in time.
The creators of Fox’s “Glay” said in a statement that they “broke their hearts” because of the death of the actress who played Santana Lopez in the program for six seasons.
Their statement added: “Naya was more than an actor in our show – she was our friend.”
