Pastor Todd Bell is a pastor in the church and he leads the wedding.

Neighbors are concerned about what this means for the Sanford community.

“He came back and made it sound good. That it was God̵

7;s will,” Deb Marshan said. Marshan lives across the street from the church.

NEWS CENTER Maine contacted Pastor Bell several times. By phone, email, social media and in person as he left the church service on Sunday morning.

At the service on Sunday, Pastor Bell mentioned the wedding in Milinocket.

“I went to the wedding. I condemned the wedding. It was a beautiful wedding,” Pastor Bell told a gathering. “Six families from our church went there. We never expected to meet. No one expected to experience the things that happened because you went to such a beautiful thing.”

Church members were unhappy with local news on Sunday morning. Some were filming or waving in front of our camera as they left the church on Sunday.

For those living in Sanford, they said they just wanted their community to be safe.

“Because they’re not just infecting their community, they’re infecting Sanford as a community,” Marchand said.

According to the CDC, there are at least five confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Maine related to this church. CDC officials say they are investigating.
