Google says 20 states are considering contact tracking applications

on Friday, 20 countries said they were “researching” contact tracking applications for COVID-19 that the company had developed with Apple Inc. AAPL,

The technology allows app users to track meetings with other people via Bluetooth and notify them anonymously if they become infected with the virus. Google also said that public health authorities in more than a dozen countries and regions have launched applications using the Google-Apple tool, including Brazil, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
