Gray’s Anatomy star Isaiah Washington is reconsidering her long-standing feud with former co-star Catherine Heigl.
The two appeared in medical drama together in its early seasons. Entering Twitter on Monday, Washington recalled the time when Hagel said Washington should not speak in public.
This woman once declared that “I will never” be allowed to speak in public again. The world agreed to her proclamation then and protested my work and my head in 65 languages. I wish I was on Twitter in 2007. “because I will do it. NEVER stop exercising my free speech,” Washington wrote on Twitter with a photo of Heigl.
It is unclear what prompted Washington to talk about Heigl.

In another tweet, Washington slapped in response to a follower who defended Heigl. He said Hagel was not defending his gay boyfriend and dragged actress Chandra Wilson into the drama, writing that “she also knows all about it.”
When a follower asked Washington why he was bringing the drama back 10 years later, he wrote, “Because this is the TRUTH. The end.”
A source close to Heigl, meanwhile, told Fox News: “Catherine stood up twice for her close friend when Isaiah said it in public and called it ‘—–.’ She is proud to have stood by Catherine and will always be a defender and ally of the LGBTQ community. “
The feud between the former stars dates back to 2007, when Hagel claimed that Washington had made an anti-gay slander on the set against Gray’s Anatomy star TR Knight.
Hagel, best known for her role as Dr. Easy Stevens in the ABC drama, said the biting thing left her “furious and disappointed.” She also said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Washington apologized to her on set for the feud.
“Isaiah thanked me for not understanding,” she said at the exit. “He was almost grateful. I don’t know Isaiah well, but he takes his job seriously and loves his character.”
“STORY WAS A LIE”: ACTOR ISAYA WASHINGTON IN AN INCIDENT APPROVED BY GRAY’S ANATOMY
Washington has reportedly denied slandering the Golden Globe Awards that year.
Washington left the show after season 3 after the accusation. As he spoke about leaving the Fox Nation series “Isaiah Washington: Kitchen Talk” in July, he explained why he decided to publicly apologize for the incident.
“The story was a lie and misinterpreted. But as a family man, a father, I thought I was helping the family,” Washington said.
He also said he would never apologize again.
“That’s why I will never apologize again – to this day,” Washington said. “That’s why Trump doesn’t apologize, because when you apologize for something, then you admit it’s wrong – you’re doing something wrong. I haven’t done anything wrong.”
KATHERINE HIGGLE TO DISCUSS THE DEATH OF GEORGE FLYDE WITH HER DAUGHTER: “HOW WILL I EXPLAIN THE UNEXPLAINABLE?”
Meanwhile, Hagel’s last appearance on the show was in January 2010, two years after she reportedly ruffled her feathers to get her name out of the Amy dispute. She later told radio icon Howard Stern that she did not reveal her name and instead never introduced herself because she was not proud of her performance. She claims that this is due to the lack of “emotional material” for her character.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the show’s Crete Vernoff recalled that she had to rewrite the script after Hagel did not show up for her farewell episode.

“All I know is that the night before she started filming, which was entirely focused on one character and the end of her story, I got a phone call that she wasn’t coming to do it. Here’s what it’s like to be a TV writer and producer. So, yes, do I want to be able to go back and do it differently? Of course, “Vernoff said at the exit.
However, a source close to Heigl denied Vernoff’s claim, calling it untrue.
