Guenter's relationship with (and breaking up) Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) has been a hit with Friends fans throughout the show's 1
However, James Michael Tyler – who plays the boss of Central Perk – revealed that he had not talked to Jennifer Aniston since the sitcom ended as early as 2004.
And so, our hearts broke.
In fact, the 57-year-old explains that he has never even seen a waitress transform into a fashionista from the show's party. "I have not seen Jennifer at the packing party, honestly.
"It was a time of our lives when we were fortunate enough to be able to work together for 10 years and have such chemistry.
"She lives in another city. I'm not going to hang out in front of her house and wait for her to go out and say hello. That would be pretty weird! "
Gunter would definitely approve.
But James insisted that he didn't take the personal matter personally," he told. Star Sunday: "It's nothing personal. The cast is moving forward. It's been a long time. I'm married and other people are married. Things are changing."
That's fair enough.
James was originally cast as extra on the show before Gunther becomes a surprise hit to the fans thanks to his quiet pinning over Rachel – despite the fact that he barely spoke. James Michael Tyler as Gunther "class =" wp-image-10826400 size-full "/>
And By Talking To Metro.c o.uk he released Once there was a storyline in which his dreams came true and Rach moved in with him.
"I never passed, but it would make Rachel move with Gunther," he told us. "I remember reading the first draft of this script and thinking, 'Oh man, they're never going to make this work. “
"Just don't read it to me, not even to me. I wasn't thankful it didn't work. Without Jennifer's fault, neither me nor the writing, she just felt horrified and everything else that happened in the series, and continues to be, was completely organic.
"I remember watching Jen and we didn't think he was right," James added. "Whatever it was, we didn't need this story."
Friends are available for streaming on Netflix UK.
