The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are already appearing under the Earl and Duchess of Wessex on the royal website.
After their Megxit to the States and an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey criticizing The Firm, Prince Harry and Megan Markle have been relegated to the list of senior royalty posted on the Royal Family’s website.
Fans have noticed in recent weeks that the site is down while under construction. Now live again, Harry and Megan follow Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and the Wessex. Before that, they ranked just under the big brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.
Harry’s updated biography reads: “As announced in January, the Duke and Duchess have resigned as senior members of the Royal Family. They balance their time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honor their duty to the Queen, the British Commonwealth and their patrons. Frogmore Cottage in the UK remains their family home. “
While some may interpret the change as a shot aimed at Sussex, others believe the move is not enough, believing the couple should be completely removed from the site.
“@KensingtonRoyal @RoyalFamily still has # meghanmarkle # princeharry on the royal website? Why? They don’t work as royalty and “don’t share time between the UK and North America”, why are they promoted on the website? “An observer tweeted, adding: This website is a government site that is used ONLY for official business and working royalty. “
