HBO Max reunites the cast of another NBC series from the 1990s.
Will Smith and the cast of The fresh prince of Bel Air will make a tape of the special gathering to air in the fall, celebrating 30 years since the comedy’s debut at NBC and helping to launch Smith’s acting career. Tatiana Ali, Karin Parsons, Joseph Marcel, Daphne Maxwell Reed and Alfonso Ribeiro, along with DJ Jazzy Jeff, who appeared on the show, will join Smith for the gathering, which according to HBO will include music, dancing and some surprise guests.
The special is scheduled to record on September 10 – the 30th anniversary of The fresh prince of Bel Airdebuted on NBC ̵
The Fresh prince the collection follows in the footsteps of Smith’s Westbrook Media, which joins the executive production Bel-Air, a dramatic rethinking of the series, based on a viral trailer made by Fresh prince superfan Morgan Cooper. The project will be co-written by Cooper and Chris Collins (Telta, sons of anarchy) is sold on streamers.
Westbrook Media also produces the special collection.
HBO Max is also planning a gathering for the cast Friends production delayed by the new coronavirus pandemic The west wing. The original cast will shoot a production of the third season episode of Hartsfield’s Landing as a benefit to the non-profit organization When We All Vote.
Marcus Raboy will direct Fresh prince collection. Ricky Hughes is a showrunner and executive producer with Miguel Melendez, Lucas Kaiser and Brad Haugen for Westbrook Media.
