Helen Reddy, the Australian singer best known for her 1972 anthem hit “I’m a Woman,” has died at the age of 78.
Reddy was diagnosed with dementia in 2015 and lived in a nursing home in Los Angeles for professional artists.
A statement from Reddy, Tracy and Jordan’s children was posted on her official fan page on Tuesday afternoon.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Helen Reddy, on the afternoon of September 29, 2020, in Los Angeles,”
“She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a really scary woman. Our hearts are broken. But we take comfort in the knowledge that her voice will live forever. ”
