This week, as part of the March Pixel Feature Drop, Google launched a deep integration between Pixel phones and an underwater photography case. Now Google has shared a first look at some photos of underwater life taken on the Pixel 5.
Thanks to the new Dive Case Connector app, it’s now easier than ever to take pictures with the Google Camera app on your Pixel phone with the controls included in the Kraken Sports underwater photography boxes.
The promise of taking pictures while underwater sounds incredible, especially since beaches and other public areas will be properly opened this year in many areas. However, not everyone will be willing to drop more than $ 300 just in case, with Google̵
To help convince potential buyers, Made by Google turned to Twitter to share some examples of exactly what to expect from photos taken with the Pixel 5 while underwater.
Although the images are not nearly full resolution, the results are still absolutely stunning, given that they were taken with a smartphone and not with any special camera equipment.
As noted in the footnote of each image, the underwater photos shown today were taken with a Pixel 5 using a universal Kraken KRH03 or KRH04 case. However, the case must fit on any Pixel phone and the connectivity app works with all Pixel phones on Android 11 or later, including Pixel 2.
