Tensions between Israel and Hamas have escalated to levels not seen since the 2014 Gaza war, and national security analyst Rebecca Grant joined Fox News on Saturday to discuss Iran’s intentions and influence in the region.
Since the beginning of last week, Hamas and Israel have exchanged rocket fire and air strikes, reviving unrest in the Middle East. As sirens echoed through southern Israel and civilians finding safety in bomb shelters, many questioned Iran’s influence in the growing conflict.

President Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian President Abbas on Saturday, and during a telephone conversation with Netanyahu, Biden expressed support for Israel’s right to self-defense and pledged an agreed solution for the two countries.
Netanyahu spoke to the Israeli people after his appeal to the US president, saying: “Our goal is to send a message to Hamas that it is not worth sending missiles the next time they want.”
President Biden has been criticized for his stance on Israel, as several prominent Democrats from his own party have shown disapproval.

“This is really turning into a deepening crisis for Biden. He also divides in the Democratic Party those who are more in favor of Palestinian rights and those who are defenders of Israel,” Grant said.
Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlibe criticized the president on the floor of the house on Friday, saying she did not recognize “Palestinian humanity.”

The commander-in-chief also faced heavy criticism after announcing that the administration was open to easing US sanctions against Iran. U.S. and Iranian diplomats have been negotiating a reconstructed deal since former President Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal on Iran in 2015. The Biden administration also announced this week that the United States would release aid to the Palestinians.
Rebecca Grant expressed concern about President Biden’s diplomatic response to Iran, saying: “I would like to see Biden’s team withdraw from talks to resume the nuclear deal with Iran. It is unfortunate that Biden has already released money to Gaza, the Palestinians through the UN. it was great to keep it above their heads. We really need to see a much stronger response and a demand for a ceasefire. “
