LINE, NICE, CLEAR LIGHT TRAFFIC FOR YOU. YOU: BACK TO OUR CORONAVIRUS COVERAGE AT 6:03. THE VACCINATION PROCESS IS COMPLETING. TONI: DEIRDRE FITZPATRICK KEEP RESEARCH While working from home and joins us LIVE DEIRDRE: random, CONTINUING TO CALIFORNIA AND IN US THIS morning, just learned in TRAMPATSING In PAMPANS MORE THAN 65 YEARS WITHOUT ZAPOLZVANE of vaccines for the second dose. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS. 39,000 NEW CASES OF A STATE COUNTRY ARE REPORTED ON SUNDAY NOW THE SUNDAY NUMBERS ARE BETTER TO BE LOWER THAN THE MOST DAYS. YOU CAN ALSO SEE UP AND DOWN THE NUMBERS IN THIS GRAPHICS OF LAST MONTH. SO, STATE LEADERS SAY IT’S BETTER TO WATCH THE AVERAGE DAY 7, WHICH IS NOW 41,000 NEW CASES A DAY. CALIFORNIA HAS I HAD THE DEADEST PHASE OF CORONAVIRUS. THIS GRAPH SHOWS DEATHS FROM APRIL. DEATHS STARTED TO INCREASE FAST FROM OCTOBER. In the first six months of the pandemic, 10,000 deaths were recorded. ABOUT A MONTH, 10,000 MORE ARE SIGNED UP AND WE ARE LIVE 30,000. BUT THERE IS HELP TO START ATTEND, AND THE STAFF AND RESIDENTS OF THE SENIOR CARE CENTER HAVE STARTED. FOR MANY IT IS THE FIRST STEP TO SEE THEIR FAMILIES IN PERSON FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME. THIS WAS LIKE THE FLORIN’S INTERNAL CARE CENTER OF ESCATON ON THE LAST NIGHT, THEY HAD TO VACCINATE MORE THAN 200 STAFF AND RESIDENTS. ANCIENT DOSES ARE PART OF A FEDERAL VALGRIN VACCINE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM. THE STAFF AND THE RESIDENTS TOLD THEM THAT GAVE US HOPE. >> IT IS GOOD HOPE THAT WE CAN COME BACK SOON ON THE BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR RESIDENTS. THEY HAD TO SEPARATE THEIRS AND THEIR FAMILIES FROM EACH OTHER, AND THIS IS ANOTHER STEP IN OUR WAY TO OPEN THE FACILITIES. >> IT’S REALLY A RELIEF TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING AND THEY USED TO PERFORM. FOR WHICH I IMAGINED THAT I COULDN’T BE. DEIRDRE: THE FEDERAL PROGRAM WILL BE VACCINATING 15,000 PEOPLE IN SMART AND ASSISTANT LIVING CENTERS. THIS IS DONE WITH WALGREENS AND CVS WITH THE HOPE OF LAYING AND WORKING WITH LOGISTICS. Meanwhile, the state is preparing to open three large vaccination sites. ONE OF THEM IS A SALO EXPO IN SACRAMENTO, TOGETHER WITH FRIDAY PARK IN SAN DIEGO AND DOGER STADIUM IN LOS ANGEL. MIKE TESELLE JOINS US LIVE AT THE CAL EXPO HOW IT WILL WORK AND SEE IT AS A LOGICAL PLACE FOR THIS AREA. MIKE: THE LAST STRATEGY IS HOW CALIFORNIA REMAINED ONE OF THE SLOWEST STATES IN THE NATION TO MAKE THE VACCINE. HOW SLOW? CALIFORNIA HAS RECEIVED 2.5 MILLION DOSES OF THE VACCINE, BUT ONLY TO USE ONLY 30% OF THEM. THIS MEANS MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION HAS NOT YET BEEN GIVEN, EVEN WHEN THEY ARE ON HAND. THE GOVERNOR ANNOUNCED THIS LATEST STRATEGY TO OPEN THREE SITES, WITH A MUD EXPO SERVING ONE OF THESE. CAL EXPO IS USED AS A VACCINATION SITE, A LIMITED VACCINATION CENTER, SPECIFICALLY FOR SACRAMENTO DISTRICT AND ITS HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS. That’s why they say it could develop on a mass vaccination site relatively quickly by next week. JUST HOW MANY VACCINATIONS THEY WILL HAVE TO USE PER DAY IS UNCLEAR, BUT ESTIMATES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ESTIMATE FROM 5,000 TO 12,000 DOSES OF THE VACCINE EACH DAY. >> WE KNOW THAT THE CURRENT STRATEGY WILL NOT TURN TOWARDS US, WHERE WE HAVE TO GO FAST QUICKLY, AS EVERYONE HAS TO GO. That is why we are accelerating the administration NOT ONLY FOR PRIORITY GROUPS, BUT OPENING LARGE SITES TO DO SO. DO AN IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE ABOUT THIS MASS VACCINATION SITE, IF YOU ARE HEARING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS STORY, LISTEN TO THIS. KAL EXPO IS NOT YET OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. YOU CAN’T DRIVE HERE AND GET A VACCINATION THIS WEEK. AT THIS MOMENT, HE IS STILL FOCUSED ON FRONTAL MEDICAL WORKERS, AS WELL AS THESE LONG-TERM CARE SERVICES. In fact, health officials say it will be “quite some time” before we get to the point where the CAL EXPO mass vaccination site accepts a larger percentage of the population. AGAIN, THIS LAST STRATEGY FROM THE GOVERNOR IS THE LAST ATTEMPT TO REVERSE THE TRENDS THAT SEE CALIFORNIA AS ONE AT LEAST AT LEAST
