The Iowa Department of Public Health announced Sunday 369 new positive tests for COVID-19 and two additional deaths. At 10 a.m., the health department reported a total of 395,189 positive tests, a total of 347,966 recoveries and 5,952 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Twenty-four hours earlier, the health department reported a total of 394,820 positive tests and a total of 5,950 deaths. Iowa reported that 2,363,435 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 were administered and 1,083,955 completed the vaccine series. The 14-day and 7-day Iowa positive rates were 3.9%. Data from the health department show that 4,822,302 tests were applied. There are currently 179 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, compared with 189 the day before. Iowa reported 42 patients in the intensive care unit and 19 patients on ventilators. None of the long-term care facilities in Iowa reported outbreaks of COVID-19.
