Israel Adesanya has said several times that he is looking for John Jones, but Jones remains skeptical.
Former UFC welterweight champion Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) took to Instagram on Monday, posting a video of a press conference after the UFC 253 fight of UFC middleweight champion Adesanya on Saturday.
In the video, Adesanya (20-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) talks about wanting to fight Jones, but that she needs to talk to her head coach, Eugene Bareman of City Kickboxing, before making any decisions.
Jones, who has long been fasting with Adesanya, made an exception to Adesanya’s use of the word “but” and said the UFC middleweight champion was bluffing, saying he wanted the fight.
“But what?” Jones writes. You have already stepped into the ring more than 100 times and you are not ready yet !? You have a youth advantage and like four times the combat experience. The truth is that you are already mine (offended), you like to be invincible and you have seen what happened to everyone else. This increases your inventory to mention my name. (You) are aware of this. You don’t want a real confrontation with me (because) I won’t just stand there and deal with you. I was preparing for heavy weights. (Right) I would literally tear off one of your hands now. “

Jones, 33, has not competed since winning a split decision in February 2020 over Dominic Reyes at UFC 247. After a pay dispute with UFC President Dana White, Jones released his 205-pound title in mid-August. He has since announced that he will advance to the heavyweight division for his next fight – although he has hinted at interest in a £ 205 rematch.
The 31-year-old Adesanya successfully defended his 185kg promotion title for the second time on Saturday in the UFC 253 main event. Taking on bitter opponent Paulo Costa, Adesanya ended the fight with a round 2 shot.
