Daily report on coronavirus in Illinois

Health officials reported 408 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus in Illinois on Wednesday, including 23 additional deaths.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is currently reporting a total of 1,386,262 cases, including 22,997 deaths since the pandemic began.

In the last 24 hours, the laboratories have reported 41,758 samples for a total of 24,991,516.

As of Tuesday night, 797 people in Illinois were reported to be in hospital with COVID-19. Of these, 209 patients were in the intensive care unit and 109 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
