Instagram runs tests where it hides as many posts in seven different countries around the world and will soon start testing, hiding them for some US users as well. Instagram CEO Adam Mosery made the announcement today at the WIRED25 conference.
In tests so far, likes have been hidden by feeds, feeds, and profiles. However, you should be able to see how much the post is liked – only other people will not be able to.
The test was first started in Canada and is also used in Ireland, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand. Facebook is also conducting a number-hiding test in Australia.
