The Iowa Department of Public Health reported another 915 new cases of coronavirus and two additional deaths. At 10 a.m. Sunday, the state reported 107,062 cases of COVID-19, a total of 81,781 recoveries and a total of 1,528 deaths since the start of the pandemic. Twenty-four hours earlier, Iowa reported a total of 106,147 cases and a total of 1,526 deaths. Data from the Ministry of Health show that 898,870 residents were tested for the virus. The state has received 4,884 laboratory test results in the last 24 hours, with 629 positive cases. The state receives results from previous days, which are added to the total amount. Iowa reported a 9.6% positive rate in the last 14 days. There are 15 Iowa counties that report a positivity rate above 15% in the last 14 days. Public schools in Harrison, Sioux, Delaware, Plymouth, Carol, Monroe, Taylor, Osseola, Emmett, Crawford, Decatur, Lyon, Humboldt, Woodbury and Cass counties are eligible to provide 100% online tuition. Harrison and Sioux counties report a positivity rate above 20%. There are currently 475 patients hospitalized with coronavirus, compared to 461 the day before. There were 108 patients enrolled in intensive care, compared to 104 from the previous day. There were 84 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, compared to 55 from the previous day. IDPH reported 45 patients on ventilators, compared with 46 the day before. State data show that 64 long-term care facilities reported outbreaks of COVID-19, compared with 63 the day before.
