The Lions lost 20-13 to the Bears on Sunday, leaving them with a 3-5-1 record and losing in five of their last six games.
That leaves them with little margin for error if they want to extend their season beyond Week 17, which renegade Darius Sly pointed out after facing Chicago. Sly said it would be "ugly" if the Lions did not win all their other games.
"We want to be a playoff team," Slay said through the Detroit Free Press . "That's why I say we are ugly. If we don't win, we won't go to the playoffs. That's the whole thing. ,,, It's hard. Being 0-3 in the division, it's hard as hell. So, s – t. Like, some miracle must happen. Everyone in our division just needs to start losing themselves, except us. That's how it happened. "
The Lions are very much out of the playoff picture at the moment and may be without quarterback Matthew Stafford in the coming weeks after missing out on Sunday with a back injury. That would make winning much harder for a team that doesn't won enough when Stafford was in the lineup.
