This year’s Thanksgiving will be different because of the pandemic. Public health officials want to remind the public of holiday and winter gatherings, their advice to follow:
Celebrating in practice or with members of your own household (who consistently take steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19) poses the lowest risk of spread.
A household is anyone who currently lives and shares common areas in a housing unit.
This may include family members, as well as roommates or unrelated people.
People who do not currently live in the housing unit, such as students returning home from school for the holidays, should be considered part of different households.
Personal gatherings that bring together family members or friends from different households, including students returning home, present different levels of risk.
