Donald Trump’s presidency began with an obvious lie from his spokesman about the size of the crowd, and apparently also ends that way.
“There was a rally on Saturday in Washington that they called ‘Million MAGA March,'” Jimmy Kimmel said of the weekend’s protest against Trump. “They were about 995,000 for a million, but don’t tell that White House spokeswoman Casey Macaroni, who did what Trump’s press secretary expects, she added a few zeros to the total.
Then the host showed a tweet from Kaylee McEnnany late at night, who wrote: “AMAZING! More than a MILLION marchers for president @realDonaldTrump are coming down the swamp in support. The best base in political history ̵
“Even Sean Spicer was like, ‘Well, that’s a little much,'” Kimmel joked. After explaining that the local authorities actually calculated the size of the crowd at about 10,000, he said, “Honestly about Kaylee, if you ask her how old she is, she raises her fingers and says ‘so much.'”
“The president doesn’t talk at the rally,” the host added, “but he drove through the crowd to show a thumbs up on the way to the golf club, which would never allow any of the people to join.” ”
As Trump declined to address his thousands of supporters, they were greeted by speeches by former Trump adviser Sebastian Gorky, approving QAnon congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, and MyPillow man Mike Lindell.
