Two fights in his UFC career and Jiri Prochazka may have already won a title, as well as a reputation as one of the most exciting athletes on the entire list.
In the main event of UFC Vegas 25 on Saturday night, Prochazka went to war with former title contender Dominic Reyes, as the light heavyweights took him best apart for almost two rounds. After dragging him to his feet in a continuous action fight, Prochazka threw an elbow blow from above and then returned with a rotating elbow, which completely destroyed Reyes and sent him face first to the canvas.
Reyes lay down for a few minutes before finally standing up again, where he was greeted by Prochazka, who quickly checked his condition after the brutal knockout.
The end of the battle came at 4:29 in the second round.
“It was a very good battle,”
“It simply came to our notice then. After a few counterattacks by Dominic, I can’t have a chance to think of any plans. I was just up to date. Then, the rotating elbow, let’s try. ”
Seeking to establish his own defeat, Reyes began the battle by throwing a few hard kicks to his body, then returned to the top with a series of hard blows that knocked Prochazka’s head back. Reyes threw powerfully behind his left hand, which caught Prohazka several times, but the Czech fighter was happy to eat a blow to fight back with a few of his own.
Always unconventional on her feet, Prochazka fired shots from every angle and then chased Reyes across the octagon. While Prochazka was definitely doing damage, as shown on Reyes’ face, the former two-time title contender was still retaliating with a lot of pop behind his punches.
When the second round started, Reyes’s face was a bloody mess, but he was actually picking better combinations and regularly finding his target. Despite trying to return from Reyes, Prochazka continued to move forward, firing punches to the face and kicks to the body as she continued to add to her overall punches.
Again and again, Reyes looked shaky on his feet, but he refused to show signs of weakness as he simply threw everything else into his arsenal. At one point, Reyes actually shook Prochazka with a counter-blow and it turned out that maybe he could reach the final.
Unfortunately for him, Prochazka recovered quickly as the fighters continued to drop bombs on each other.
Well, that was as Prochazka threw the first elbow, followed by the reversing elbow that immediately separated Reyes from consciousness when he fell first face to the canvas.
Now 2-0 in the UFC, while landing only the third knockout with a backward elbow in the history of the promotion, Prochazka is positioned as a potential contender for the title in his next fight.
“Yes, I’m ready. Let’s do this, “said Prochazka about the title fight. “I like my neighbor [Jan] Blahovich. Now is the battle of Glover Teixeira against Blachowicz, right? So the winner will be my next opponent? Okay, honor to me. This is a great honor for me. “
