Joker director Todd Phillips is not optimistic when it comes to a future meeting between Joker Phoenix Joker and the recently announced Batman of Robert Pattinson
asking if the pair will appear in a future movie together. Although this does not mean that The Joker will be the last movie starring a DC super villain.
"It's weird that in the States comics are our Shakespeare, it seems, and you can make a lot of versions of Hamlet," Phillips said. "There will be many more jokes, I'm sure in the future."
Joker actress Zazier Betz shared her own involvement with the character a few days earlier, addressing accusations that the movie might be too cute for killer super villain.
"I think it really is a commitment to isolation and something that is our duty as a society, I suppose, to reach out to people who somehow sneak through the cracks," she says to Variety . "Of course, there is a lot of culture at the moment. But I don't know if it's so much ̵
The premiere of The Joker at the Toronto International Film Festival comes on the heels of the latest acknowledgments of the Venice Film Festival. After debuting rave reviews, the film also won the biggest prize of the festival's Golden Lion.
"Honestly, we just can't believe anything in Venice," Phillips said. "We are still on our feet."
