Instead, Biden will accept the Democratic candidacy for president from his home state of Delaware, according to the Democracy National Convention Committee.
“From the very beginning of this pandemic, we have put the health and safety of the American people first. We followed science, listened to doctors and public health experts, and continued to make adjustments to our plans to protect lives. the kind of stable and responsible leadership that America deserves. And that’s the leadership that Joe Biden will bring to the White House, “Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement.
An employee told CNN that the decision was announced internally on Wednesday morning.

Wisconsin health officials have informed the Democratic Party’s National Convention Committee that speakers at the 2020 Convention for Democracy should no longer travel to Milwaukee because of the coronavirus, a source familiar with CNN said.
This includes Biden and his possible running partner. None of them will travel to Milwaukee, the source said.
This is the latest and strongest sign that the Democratic Convention will happen almost entirely in practice.
This follows constant consultations between health officials and pandemic convention officials.
The only speakers from Milwaukee now, a party spokesman said, would be Wisconsin voters and officials who are part of the program. They will stand out in the conventional lineup, along with people from other barbell countries. But there will be no big speeches from Milwaukee.
“The fear of the public spread in Milwaukee, with the media, production teams and party officials just getting too much,” a senior Democratic official told CNN. “We don’t want to risk anyone’s health for that.”
The change in location for Biden’s speech is the most significant change, along with his running partner. The vice-presidential nominee will deliver a speech from a seat that will be determined once she is elected, the party representative said.
The change is another blow for Milwaukee. But the official said the increase in Wisconsin cases – as well as coronavirus cases across the country – led to the change.
