Kanye West resurrected in his hometown – with Rapper Chance no less – and the people of Chicago did NOT miss the opportunity to go out and bear a witness.
This week you spent your Sunday service in Chi-Town hosting a huge crowd at Huntington Bank Pavilion on North Island … and it looks like it was a packed house. The place has a capacity of 30,000 people – they seem to have fulfilled this and then some.
It seems that this is more of a traditional concert than his usual gatherings – which has lately been aiming for a LOT – but also unconventional in some respects too.
For example, it looks like the scene that both of Kanye performed on was closer to ground level than on your regular concert stage, which made this Sunday service feel much more intimate and interactive. People also respected the proximity – there are no reports of someone rushing to Ye, so it seems people have kept their distance.
This does not mean that security is not available – it absolutely is. Quite funny, at one point Kanye told the guard to back away as he made his way through the audience to the stage … telling the man to "watch this" … and then parting with the human sea, if you will.
A lot of the brand, right?
Anyway, you have to imagine that Kanye fans are eternally grateful for this trip – up until recently you hosted on Sunday service in secret areas in and around LA and to attend, it seems you need a special invitation.
Now, Kanye has brought his ritual to the people … and they seem to love it.
