WASHINGTON, October 14, 2019 – Kenosha Beef International, an office in Columbus, OH, recalls an unspecified amount of counterfeit beef products that could be contaminated with external materials, especially metal shavings, US Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Food Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
Forged beef products were produced on different dates from September 20, 2019 to October 4, 2019. The following products are recallable: [View Labels (PDF Only)]
- Cases containing eight 5 pounds. plastic bags from 'TACO BELL SEASONED BEEF Taco and Burrito Filling', used for dates from 'L2 11/4/19' to 'L2 11/18/19'.
The recalled products bear the identification number "EST. 1
The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS on October 12, 2019 that it had received three customer complaints.
No reported adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about injury or illness should contact a healthcare professional.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in refrigerated restaurants. Restaurants that purchased these products are urged not to serve them. These products must be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
