Kevin Fage explains why they throw Quicksilver to Evan Peters instead of Aaron Taylor-Johnson

One of the biggest surprises in Marvel WandaVision was the arrival of Pietro Maximov in the fifth episode of “On a very special episode …”, played not by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, as the character was in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but by Evan Peters, the actor who brought Quicksilver to life in the X-Men movies. It has since been revealed that this Pietro may not be the real deal – last week’s episode revealed that Agnes (Catherine Hahn) really is Agatha Harknes and pulls the strings all the time – and it turns out that’s part of the reason for the series. went with Peters, not Taylor-Johnson.

During a Disney + presentation to TCA on Wednesday, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feig said that the decision to hire Peters, not Taylor-Johnson, happened quite early in the development process and then explained that it was all part from how “certain people” get confused with Wanda.

“It̵

7;s one of the fun things about designing these things or coloring them in rooms,” Fage said (via The packaging). “My favorite part of the process is always the very, very beginning, when we figure out what it could be at the very, very end, when we refine it and release it into the world. So there were all sorts of discussions, but I believe we ended up with what you saw relatively early in the development process. It’s just another way that some people got involved with Wanda. “

And last week’s Breaking the Fourth Wall, the seventh episode in the series, revealed that someone was really mistaken for Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and used the Pietro for that. The episode saw Agnes reveal herself as Agatha, and the montage showed viewers how “Agatha was all the time”, along with a compelling theme song – a theme song that spawned a very creative fan cover and remix. Of course, there are still many theories that suggest that Agatha may not be WandaVision’s biggest big bad. There are many theories that suggest that Mephisto or the Nightmare may still be behind all this, and even some theories that Quicksilver may actually be Chthon. Fans will just have to wait for the last two episodes to find out.

The first seven episodes of WandaVision are now airing on Disney +.
