Kim Kardasian West has been interested in criminal justice for a long time.
The first case that interests her so far as she gets involved is the case of Alice Marie Johnson, who was, for the first time, a non-violent drug addict who spends her life in prison.
Entrepreneur and reality star has been talking to White House senior adviser Jared Kushner for months on Johnson's pardon. She eventually met with President Donald Trump at the White House for Johnson. On June 6, 2018, the White House issued a statement announcing that Johnson's life sentence had been reduced. Johnson and Kardashian West are still close today.
Kim Kardashian West tells Chris Jenner that her father warns her not to pursue a career in criminal justice
But even before that, Kardashian West has shown an interest in criminal justice. In an episode of May 2019 on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kardashian West was shown talking to her mother, Chris Jenner, about her goals, and in particular, her process of selecting people to help.
"If I see something that I feel has a real shot and just as it moves me, I'll send it to my attorneys who review everything just to make sure it's legal," she said.
She also told her mother that her father, O.J.'s friend. Simpson and defense lawyer Robert Kardashian once warned her to get involved in criminal justice. But the council clearly did not deter her.
"Years ago I told my dad that I was really in criminal justice and he was like, 'This is going to stress you so much, you don't really want to deal with it,'" she said. "I think now that I've gotten deeper into helping Alice, I'm really motivated to get to know the law more and fight for people who deserve a second chance like her."
Kardashian West is universal in criminal justice at this point . She did not graduate from college, so she went the unconventional path to becoming a lawyer. She told Vogue that she would do a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco and that her plan was to bring the law school in 2022.
Kim Kardashian West's fans and haters while preparing to take the bar. it is surprising that Kardashian West was met with much hatred and by heart when he announced his goal to become a lawyer – there are many Kardashian hating in the world.
She replied to the initial negative reply, which she received with a long tweet and an Instagram post.
"One person actually said I should 'stay in my lane. "I want people to understand that there is nothing to limit the pursuit of your dreams and the pursuit of new goals. You can create your own sails, as I do, "she wrote.
But Kardahsian West also received support as he pursued his goal of becoming a lawyer.
She certainly has a fan on CNN's Van Jones. Kardashian West and the host of The Redemption Project with Van Jones met at the White House in 2018 as they worked together on criminal justice reform.
"It takes these cases seriously. It's unpleasant to get into a meeting with Kim Kardashian, you're the lawyer, and she's not, and she knows more than you do now, and it's happening all the time, "Jones, who graduated from Yale Law School and is now a lawyer, said on Extra.
"[Kim] is so prepared, she is so passionate, she reads the letters she receives and is always trying to figure out how to be useful," he continued. "People forget that she is the daughter of a very accomplished lawyer."
